In our platform you can choose whether you want to sign documents electronically or traditionally by using a pen and paper. Both ways are legally valid.

Which signing method should I choose?

E-sign is suitable for most signing occasions. It is also the easiest way to sign. With e-sign the signee draws their signature with their finger or smart pen on their device. This signing method is equivalent to traditional signing in the UK and the EU.

The signature validity

Electronic signing is a recommended method to sign most legal documents, because it is easier to prove afterwards than traditional signing on paper. The technical information gathered by electronic signatures make it easier to prove the identity and time of signing than traditional signature.

When using e-sign, a timestamp is created to indicate when the signing was initiated and completed. This can not be proven in the same way when signing a paper the traditional way. Phone number or email address belonging to a certain person also gives a stronger indication that the signing was performed by the signee.
